This study was done to understand trends and relationship between productivity, labour cost and wages administration covering four major industries of India viz. Cotton textiles, Jute, Sugar and Steel. This research helps in understanding the economic performance and movements of economic factors like wage determination, productivity, technology replacements, opportunities of investment and various others during 1980-2004.
