The present title Development of Animal Behaviour aims to stimulate an understanding of behaviour of wide variety of animals including man, farm animal and best species to inspire the reader to take an interest in the field. The text integrates the descriptive and experimental approaches into a conceptual framework for the analysis of behavioural studies. It is profusely and attractively illustrated with line diagrams.
It introduces the basic ideas and concepts of modern ethology set in historical context, thereby showing how views have changed since the simple theories put forward by the founders of the field, such as Lorenz and Tinberg 40 years or more ago.
