Jawarlal Nehru had said 'You can tell the condition of the nation by looking at the status of women' and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam said that Empowering women is a prerequisite for creating a good nation, when women are empowered, society with stability is assured. Empowerment of women is essential as their thoughts and their value systems lead to the development of a good family, good society and ultimately a good nation. According to the National Policy on Education, 1986, Government of India, women become empowered through collective reflection and decision making. It?s parameters are building a positive self image and self confidence, developing ability to think critically, building group cohesion and fostering decision making and action. Education is one of the best media for women empowerment because it can cater the needs of women literacy, women school education, higher education and professional education and science and technology. Empowering one women is not considered as women empowerment, bringing the change in group of individuals is very important. Education can facilitate large number of women population towards welfare.
